Oman- State Council delegation meets Sri Lankan President, PM
They discussed cooperation between Oman and Sri Lanka and means of developing them in various fields. The meeting was attended by H E Sheikh Sabah, Oman's Ambassador to Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan officials. Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also received the Omani delegation led by H E Dr Mantheri.
The Sri Lankan PM spoke on the strong relations of friendship and expressed hope that this visit will contribute to enhancing cooperation between the two countries. H E Dr Mantheri thanked the Sri Lankan Prime Minister for the warm hospitality and expressed keenness to develop ties in economic, political and parliamentary fields.During the meeting, they exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern. The meeting was attended by Oman's envoy and Sri Lankan officials. Also, Karu Jayasuriya, speaker of the Sri Lankan Parliament received the Omani delegation at the Parliament House. Jayasuriya praised the strong relations between the two countries and expressed his country's keenness to develop cooperation in different fields.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to serve the interests of the two countries, especially with regard to parliamentary aspects. The Omani delegation and H E Sabah attended part of the session of the Sri Lankan Parliament. Following this, they toured the Parliament building to know about the facilities.The State Council delegation includes Abdullah Said al Saifi, Dr Muna Ahmed Saadoon, Dr Said Mubarak Muharrami, Dr Ismail Saleh al Aghbari and Sabah Mohamed Bahlani among others.
