Jordan- Moderate conditions remain Tuesday, cold front forecast Wednesday


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Dec.5 (Petra) –A slight drop in temperatures is expected Tuesday, but moderate weather will continue to prevail on the hilly areas and the desert regions, while it will be relatively warm in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) daily brief said.

Daytime temperatures expected in the capital for today will reach 21 degrees Celsius, in the southern cities 17 dropping down to 7 in both areas. Mercury levels in the Gulf of Aqaba will range between a high of 29 degrees and a low of 15, the JMD added.

A cold wet air mass and a depression centered over north Syria are forecast to start affecting the country on Wednesday, bringing tangible drop in temperatures and creating cold and cloudy conditions with rain across much parts of the Kingdom.

Snow showers are also expected late Wednesday in the hilly areas, the northern and southern regions with westerly to northwesterly brisk winds and gusts reaching 50-60 Mph, the JMD added.

Similar cold conditions with partly cloudy skies and rain will remain Thursday during the day, the JMD said, adding the depression is forecast to start weaken overnight as conditions will gradually stabilize. Patches of frost and freezing conditions are forecast to prevail Friday in all parts of the country, with northwesterly moderate winds, the JMD further added.
