To escape Daesh, Ferah creates her own world

(MENAFN)After becoming 14 years old, Ferah started building her own world in her bedroom; a world of butterflies made out of papers, of inspirational messages she wrote to herself taping them on the wall above her bed.

The Iraqi teen did so and tried to keep it special in order to to stay escape the horror outside in her home city, and find comfort in her own created world.

Mosul, the city where she lives had been taken over by the Daesh group, in the summer of 2014.

For nearly three years, she used her room as a sanctuary where she wrote a Facebook journal, expressing deliberately her worries and expectations.

"What is the problem?" she wrote in a fictional dialogue.
