Qatar- Deputy PM and Defence Minister visits French air bases

Paris:Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Dr Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah has visited a section on training for planes and the school of officer cadets in the field of servicing fighter jets, located in France's Rochefort.

His Excellency also met with members of the Qatar armed forces who are part of Project Saqr 1 in Rochefort's military base, which provides basic education in the field of servicing fighter jets.

He also visited Mont-de-Marsan to check the air base there. In reception of His Excellency was commander of the air base Major-general Jean Rondel. The air base hosts the Qatari Rafal Jets and the training officers and candidate officers, as well as member of the Emir Air Force who are receiving a special training on flying and servicing the Rafal in cooperation with the French side, with the goal of gaining expertise.

His Excellency then moved to Strasbourg to visit the joint intelligence training institute, where he got to know the updates on the training received by officers, officer cadets, and members of Emiri Air Force.

The training will make a significant contribution to developing the defensive and attacking military capabilities. It will also greatly enhance the electronic war capabilities in the ability to analyze intelligence footage. His Excellency was accompanied by a number of ranking officers at the Qatar Armed Forces.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Dr Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah met yesterday with Chairman & CEO of Dassault Aviation in France Eric Trappier. The meeting discussed ways to enhance the capabilities of Qatar Emiri Air Force by introducing new systems produced by the French company.

Dassault is manufacturing Rafale fighter jets which will soon join the Qatar Armed Forces.The meeting was attended by senior officers of the armed forces.
