Syria peace talks to be held on Wednesday

(MENAFN)UN-backed talks intended to end the civil war in Syria are to be initiated in Switzerland on Wednesday, and Syrian government negotiators are expected to arrive, however; they insist that they will not accept any discussion of President Bashar Assad's removal.

Damascus has refused to confirm it would attend the talks at the beginning, and the rebel opposition were still insisting on the president's ouster.

Syrian regime has managed to make huge advances against its opponents, as it recaptured large territories of the country with the support of Russian military.

United Nations announced however; that government representatives are to arrive on Wednesday after securing key concessions, including not bringing the Assad's ouster into the table.
