Oman- Al Khoudh Street project near completion, open to traffic

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Coinciding with the sultanate's celebrations of the 47th National Day, Muscat Municipality has finished implementing most of the basic works of Al Khoudh Street project, from Sultan Qaboos University roundabout to Muscat Expressway with a total length of 3,200m. The street is now open to traffic.

The street starts from Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) roundabout to intersection number 12 on Muscat Expressway, with three lanes in each direction, stated a press release. The road includes a new intersection leading to the College of Arts and Social Sciences at SQU with traffic signals.

The asphalt layer used can withstand heavy vehicle weight. Many tracks have been built to facilitate the traffic from the SQU roundabout, as well as for the upcoming traffic from Muscat Expressway. For road protection, ten rainwater drainage systems have been made in four locations along the road, with appropriate lighting according to approved specifications. Pedestrian lanes are 6km long.
