Chicago: convict mother die prior to serving jail term
(MENAFN) Authorities confirmed on Sunday the death of a woman who was supposed to serve time in jail after giving her disabled daughter a lethal dose of medicine in 2015, the cause of death was assumed as suicide.
In 2016, Bonnie Liltz pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter and was given a sentence. The motive of the crime was allegedly her concern about the future of Courtney, her daughter after Liltz was diagnosed with cancer.
Tom Glasgow, Liltz lawyer, said that she wished her daughter to avoid the risk of being institutionalized; he also said to The Chicago Tribune "it's a tragic, tragic end, she just didn't want to die in prison."
