The ministry said that the shots are available free of charges for citizens and residents alike at primary health centers. Studies conducted in the State of Qatar and accredited by the World Health Organization said that the flu virus is likely to be active this winter all the way to April.

A total of 80 thousand people received their vaccinations since September, the ministry said. There were no side effects noted in those vaccinations as the ministry was committed to providing the best-in-class shots.

The vaccination campaign aims to raise awareness on the importance of protection against seasonal flu as the winter season arrives. That is in addition to raise awareness on the complications that could come from flu.

The ministry advised all citizens and residents from ages higher than six months to get their shots. It especially urged ones suffering from diseases such as diabetes, heart diseases, cancer, lung diseases and other diseases to get their shots.
