AMMAN —AlGhad— The medical team at the Abu Obeida Hospital in the North Jordan Valley were forced to use flashlights in order to operate on a patient with a brain tumour today, Saturday, after the hospital lost power 30 minutes into the operation.

Surgeons used the flashlight options on their mobile phones during the blackout, according to the hospital's medical staff, to operate.

Meanwhile, the hospital's administration confirmed to AlGhad that the facility's power generators had gone down, as they were under maintenance at the time.

The family of the patient expressed their discontent with the worrying incident, whereas the Ministry of Health has yet to comment.
