Oman to celebrate Nat'l holiday tomorrow


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) MUSCAT, Nov 17 (KUNA) -- the Sultanate of Oman is due to celebrate tomorrow (Saturday) its annual National Day, marking 47 years of independent, thrive, and prosperity.

For most of Omani citizens, National Day is a time of patriotism and historical reflection.

The Omani leadership has been able to lead a wise and prudent vision for the future and to enable the Omani people utilize all the necessary means and elements to progress, success and self-improve.

In the Renaissance era, Oman started to develop, build and reeducate its citizens to become a true partner in governing the process of development and advancement.

The establishment of the Omani Council with its two State and Shura Councils is another milestone and a detailed sign of history.

While the legislative and supervisory powers were granted to the Omani Council, and in turn have made it more capable of expressing the aspirations of citizens and providing them with a broader and deeper participation in the decision-making process, the experience of municipal councils has been another significant step in supporting democratic practice and expanding citizen participation in the service of their communities And the strengthening of the Omani Shura approach, which is also accompanied by several steps to strengthen the independence of the judiciary and public prosecution.
