(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar's labour law has evolved over the years and the amendments made to it improved the working conditions of the labour force, Doha resident Mohamed Farman told Qatar Urdu Radio live show Haqeeqat.
'In 2011, Qatar increased the number of police officers to monitor the health, security and management of the labour force by their employers in many parts of the country. Later in 2014, Qatar has built accommodation for labourers as per international standards and today Qatar has the largest labour city in the region located in Mesaimeer, Farman explained.
He discussed the health facilities for labourers and added there are regulations in place not only for construction workers but also for domestic workers.
Haqeeqat, which aims to engage and interact with the large South Asian expatriate community in Qatar, is a joint venture of the Gulf Times and Qatar Media Corporation Urdu Radio. It is broadcast from Sunday to Thursday on FM107.
