(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY, Nov 11: A 45-year-old Kuwaiti was declared dead upon arrival at Jahra Hospital after his disowned 22-year-old son stabbed him with a knife in their house in Wafra. Securitymen from the Criminal Evidence General Department arrested the suspect in less than six hours from the time he fled from the crime scene.

According to a security source, the Operations Unit in the Interior Ministry received a call from the administration of Jahra Hospital, saying the 45-year-old Kuwaiti died upon arrival at the hospital with a stab wound in his abdomen.

Securitymen rushed to the hospital to investigate and this led to the arrest of the suspect in a vacant lot in Jahra. They said the murder weapon was found in a garbage container. During interrogation, the suspect confessed to stabbing his father three times in front of the entire family due to a domestic problem. He disclosed that he took a knife from the house and waited for his father in a closed place where he stabbed the latter.

Criminal Evidences Department officers lifted fingerprints and collected evidence from the house. Preliminary investigations revealed the suspect is involved in several other cases. He was referred to the Public Prosecution for questioning and other legal measures.
