ICGS Samarth ends successful visit to Qatar

Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS), Samarth, which had docked at Hamad port on November 4, has concluded a successful visit to Qatar, the second visit of an Indian ship this year.
The Commanding Officer of the ICGS Samarth, DIG KR Deepak Kumar called on the Director Qatar Coasts and Border Security Dept, Brigadier Ali A.S. Al Bedeed on November 5 at the Coast Guard Headquarters and had a fruitful interaction with him. He also met senior Qatari Emiri Naval Forces (QENF) Officers at the Naval base. A joint passage exercise between Indian and Qatar Coast Guard ships was conducted on November 7, 2017 for which a pre-sail conference was held at Qatar Coast Guard Headquarters on November 6.
Apart from carrying out detailed planning by the operations teams of participating ships, professional exchanges and briefings were also undertaken to imbibe the best practices being followed by each side.
