Vietnam empties reservoir water
(MENAFN) Few days prior to the Asia-Pacific leaders summit, Vietnam has emptied water from 7 dangerously full reservoirs after a typhoon led to about 70 deaths.
According to the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, authorities are attempting to avoid more floods, especially around Danang City, where the summit will be held.
Typhoon Damrey that hit on Saturday is considered the 12 biggest storm of 2017, leading to the death of 69 people and the missing of 30 more.
The disaster committee said that authorities were emptying water from 7 reservoirs along with a plan to reduce flooding.
