Arab coalition closes all Yemen land crossings, sea, air ports


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Nov.6 (Petra)-- The Arab Coalition's command to restore the Legitimacy in Yemen early Monday announced its temporarily closing all of the land, sea and air ports in Yemen.

The coalition's command issued a statement on the launching of a ballistic missile by the Houthi militia in Yemen in an attempt to target the Riyadh city, considering this a blatant act of military aggression by the Iranian regime, and could rise to be considered as an act of war against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA), who carried the statement affirmed the legitimate right of the Saudi Arabia to defend its territory and people in accordance with Article (51) of the U.N. Charter. Therefore, the coalition's command decided the temporary closure of all Yemen land crossings, sea, air ports.

The Coalition Command also affirmed that the Kingdom reserves its right to respond to Iran in the appropriate time and manner, in accordance with international law and based upon the right of self-defense, calling on the international community to hold Iran accountable for its violations.

The coalition's command also considered the Iranian regime's action in supplying the Houthi militias with these missiles to be a blatant violation of the United Nations Security Council resolutions that prohibit nations from arming these militias, specifically resolution (2216)," the statement explained.
