US president
His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani, and HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani have sent cables to US President Donald Trump, extending their condolences to the president and to the American people following the horrific incident that took place inside a church in southern Texas in which dozens were killed and injured. They wished speedy recovery to those injured in the incident.

His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani issued the following decrees yesterday:
1. Decree No 84 of 2017 ratifying agreement on Co-operation in the field of combating organised crime between the governments of Qatar and Algeria signed in Doha on 31/10/2016,
2. Decree No 85 of 2017 ratifying agreement on the exemption of visas for holders of diplomatic and private passports between the governments of Poland signed in Warsaw on 5/5/2017.
3. Decree No 86 of 2017, ratifying a co-operation agreement in the field of education, higher education, scientific research and technology between the government of Qatar and Kenya signed in Nairobi on 11/4/2017.
4. Decree No 87 of 2017, ratifying a co-operation agreement in the cultural field between the governments of Qatar and Kenya signed in Nairobi on 11/4/2017.

His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday issued Decree Law Number 21 of 2017 amending some provisions of the Law Number 34 of 2005 on Investment Free Zones.
Instruments
of ratification
His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani issued yesterday an instrument of ratification endorsing a draft agreement on economic, trade and technical co-operation between the governments of Qatar and Liberia, signed in Doha on May 21, 2014.
The Emir also issued an instrument of ratification endorsing an agreement on air services between the governments of Qatar and Turkmenistan, signed in Ashgabat on March 7, 2016.

in Paris talks
HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi met the Minister of Science, Technology and Research of Sri Lanka, Susil Premajayantha, on the sidelines of the 39th general conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) taking place at the organisation's headquarters in Paris.
The meeting discussed a number of topics of common interest and means of developing them, especially in the educational field.

Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry Dr Ahmed bin Hassan al-Hammadi has met separately with Foreign Minister of Serbia Ivica Dacic and Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry of Serbia Veljko Odalovic in Belgrade.
They discussed relations between Qatar and Serbia and ways to support and develop them, in addition to matters of common concern.
