(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Muscat Municipality has signed a five-year agreement with the Oman Livestock Company for the management of its slaughterhouses in the wilayats of Amerat and Seeb.

This is part of municipality's efforts to improve its services in various areas of the governorate. In an emailed reply, Muscat Municipality said that the involvement of the private sector is part of its strategy to manage and operate these facilities to get optimum level of service.

'Muscat Municipality represented by the slaughterhouse administration will be responsible for supervising and inspecting the operation and maintenance works carried out by the company throughout the contract period. 'We are also responsible for checking the services provided to citizens and imposing fines in the event of any irregularities.'

The municipality said that the investor will find additional value through the sale of livestock, processing and sale of carcass, and through sale of livestock residue.
