Kuwait PM: digitalization transformation requires comprehensive efforts


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Nov 5 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Prime Minister sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah said on Sunday that digital transformation is a comprehensive change all state's bodies should assume.

This came during a speech delivered by Minister of Commerce and Industry, and Acting Minister of State for Youth Affairs Khaled Al-Roudhan, on behalf of His Highness the Prime Minister, at the opening of a forum on "transformation towards digitalization.

"We realize challenges facing the Central apparatus for Information technology which is assigned with carrying out this move on the level of all State's bodies," Al-Roudhan said.

He pointed to the directives of the political leadership on urging and guiding everyone to take care of this field, noting that efforts are needed, on the legislative level, to foster digital transformation.

Challenges resulted from continued changes on information and communications technology (ICT) are related to information security, which has become a main challenge facing security of countries, individuals and institutions, the minister said.

In a similar speech, Al-Roudhan stressed that His Highness Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak's patronage of the forum is based on his responsibility towards the development of the State of Kuwait in various fields.

Al-Roudhan also affirmed that ICT is one of the most important tools of development and renaissance in modern era.

He voiced his hope that the forum would lead to a quantum leap in Kuwait's march towards digitalization, which is an inevitable path for implementing e-government programs, thanking international and local companies taking part in organizing the forum.

The event aims to discuss details pertaining to process of transforming institutions into digitalization, including government institutions, with the aim of developing and executing integrated, efficient and comprehensive e-services for the public's satisfaction. (end) wr.ns.hm
