Lebanese president will not accept PM's resignation yet
(MENAFN- The Peninsula) BEIRUT: Lebanon's President Michel Aounwill not decide whether to accept or reject the resignation ofprime minister Saad al-Hariri until Hariri returns to Lebanon toexplain his reasons, sources at the presidential palace said onSunday.
Hariri left Lebanon for Saudi Arabia on Friday and resignedon Saturday in a televised statement that took the Lebanesepolitical establishment by surprise.
There is no obvious successor to Hariri and by refusing toaccept his resignation, Aoun is seen to be delaying politicalconsultations on a new prime minister.
