Turkey stops a migrants boat
(MENAFN) According to Turkish authorities, 310 migrants were stopped from crossing the Aegean Sea, going to Greece in a fishing boat.
The passengers were 110 Syrians, 179 Pakistanis and Indian, Somali, Afghan, Sri Lankan and Iranian nationals, as the coast guard said.
Seven Turkish and two Belarusian nationals were also on the boat, believed to be migrant smugglers.
A spokesman for the UN migration agency tweeted: "Over 2560 migrants saved in the Mediterranean in the last 4 days. 34 corpses recovered."
