UAE ambassador meets Somali minister

MOGADISHU, 4th November, 2017 (WAM) -- Mohammed Ahmed Al Othman, the UAE Ambassador to Somalia, met Jamal Mohamed Hassan, Somali Minister of Planning, Investment and Economic Development, here on Saturday.

The meeting was attended by Salem Al Hossani, Head of the Emirates Red Crescent team in Somalia.

Held at the UAE Embassy in Mogadishu, the meeting saw discussions on bilateral relations and ways to enhance them. Also discussed was the means to implement the UAE's initiative to provide comprehensive care for 300 families and orphans who lost their providers in the terrorist attack, which took place on 14th October and led to the death of hundreds of innocent civilians.

The Somali minister praised the UAE's initiative to provide medical treatment to 100 Somalis who were injured in the attack and to extend care to the families of the victims.

He further thanked the UAE for its continuous support to ease the burden of the people of the country.
