Qatar- Bedaya hosts lecture to share knowledge on sustainability

Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Center), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, in collaboration with Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), recently held a social event at ‘The Brand Lounge' of HBKU titled, 'Sustainable Businesses, For a Better Future.

This event offered interested audience an opportunity to hear stories from academics and entrepreneurs in the field of sustainability in the state of Qatar. Attendees also got the chance to learn about sustainability efforts undertaken in the country and the role private institutions and individuals can play during the various sustainability campaigns taking place in town.

On this occasion, Reem Al-Suwaidi, General Manager of Bedaya Center said,Qatar is on track to transform to a knowledge-based economy, therefore, sustainability issues are becoming more important than ever before, as it is one of the pillars of the Qatar 2030 National Vision, in which the private sector plays a key role in achieving sustainable development.

'Supporting entrepreneurs is a prerequisite for enabling the private sector to play their part in contributing to a comprehensive and broad vision to support the national economy. Much has been achieved in this area, however, there is still a need for more projects and steps to be taken in this field. The objective of this event was to help stakeholders communicate extensively with experienced academics and business leaders in the sustainability sector.
