(MENAFN)Tunisian authorities have arrested a young extremist who stabbed two policemen on Wednesday in front of the Tunisian parliament, and injuring one of them, the authorities said.
The early morning attack happened outside an entrance to parliament, next door to the famed National Bardo Museum that deadly Daesh terror group attacked in 2015.
The attacker sat upon the policemen with a knife at around 8:00am (0700 GMT) stabbing "one in the back of the neck and another at the level of his eyes." Said Sofiene Sliti, a spokesman for the prosecutor's office.
The wounded officer had to undergo an operation in hospital and remain in an intensive care, a medical source told AFP.
