Oman- Nama Group, NYC celebrate closing of 'Wiyakum' 2017


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Nama Group, in cooperation with the National Youth Commission (NYC), successfully concluded the Omani youth sustainability programme, 'Wiyakum' 2017.

The ceremony was held under the auspices of H H Sayyid Malak bin Shihab bin Tariq al Said in Sultan Qaboos Sport and Cultural Centre - Salalah, attended by key officials from government and private sectors in addition to Hassan Mohammed Ali al Lawati, chairman of Nama Group, Eng Omar bin Khalfan al Wahaibi, CEO of Nama Group, and other representatives from Nama Group and NYC. The event was part of the activities to mark the Omani Youth Day on October 26.

Winners of the competition were announced and prizes were handed over to them in the third edition of 'Wiyakum' programme. 'Swarah' was named as the best volunteering team, followed by 'Ehtwaa' in the second place. 'Eradati' was awarded third place while 'Ehtam Beslamtic' came forth then 'Girl House' was fifth. Nama Group and NYC also organised a dedicated exhibition for the volunteering teams where the participants demonstrated their achievements and initiatives.

Eng Wahaibi said, 'Wiyakum competition aims at promoting a culture of sustainable work among Omani youth and to encourage volunteering teams, sports clubs and associations to support the society. Nama Group and NYC joined hands to promote a volunteering culture in the sultanate through participants who will become our ambassadors in their local communities. We would like to thank the NYC and all volunteers for their contribution this year.'
