Oman takes part in Arab Tourism Investment Forum in Tunisia


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Oman, represented by the Ministry of Tourism, has concluded its participation in the Arab Tourism Investment Forum and the Executive Board meeting of the Arab Tourism Organization held in Tunisia.

The event saw the presence of ministerial delegations from Arab countries and Arab businessmen and investors. The sultanate's delegation was headed by H E Ahmed bin Nasser bin Hamad al Mehrzi, Minister of Tourism and the head of the Arab Tourism Ministerial Board.

The Arab Tourism Investment Forum was organised by the Tunisian Ministry of Tourism and traditional industries, under the auspices of Shahed Yousuf, the Prime Minister of Tunisia, as well ministers, tourism company representatives, chambers of commerce, Arab tourism authorities, investors and businessmen, a press release stated.

The forum offered investors an opportunity to learn about the incentives and facilities that Arab countries offer, to encourage investments in the tourism sector. The Arab Tourism Investment Forum is an annual event that is held in Tunisia, also known as the Tunisian-Arab Tourism Investment Forum.

The event aims to build bridges between the Arab countries in the tourism sector and establish commercial integration between investment entities in the Arab world. On the sidelines of the forum, several meetings were held between the sultanate's delegation and other ministerial delegations and Arab businessmen and investors, in order to promote Oman as an ideal tourism destination.

H E Mehrzi spearheaded the second Executive Board Meeting of the Arab Tourism Organization. The meeting detailed the efforts made by the Arab Tourism Organization to support and empower Arab tourism, as well as the strategies, visions, and initiatives offered to the Arab tourism sector. The meeting's third edition will be held in Yunbaa in Saudi Arabia.

During the visit, H E Mehrzi and the Omani delegation also met Salma al Lumi al Raqeeq, the Minister of Tunisian Tourism, and discussed ways to develop the tourism industry in both countries. H E Mehrzi invited his Tunisian counterpart to attend the second Tourism and Culture Conference that is being hosted by the sultanate in December. H E Mehrzi, the chairman of Salalah Port and Free Zone also met Mabrook Karsheed, Minister of State Property and Real Estate Affairs in Tunisia.
