'Lies, propaganda by siege countries won't stop Qatar's progress'


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Propaganda, fake news or any other kind of lies fabricated by the blockading countries of Saudi Arabia or the UAE will not be able to stop Qatar from achieving its goals and targets, Doha-resident Mohamed Ayub told Qatar Urdu Radio's live radio show Haqeeqat yesterday.
Discussing the progress of stadiums for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, he said, Qatar won the rights to host the event after great efforts under terms and conditions which the country is fulfilling according to detailed plans.
Ayub, a civil engineer by profession, said Qatar is working on 12 venues for the 2022 World Cup, with nine newly built stadiums that will be ready by 2020, and the other stadiums to be renovated, with renovation work already finished on Khalifa International Stadium.
'The strategy is not limited to just the construction of stadiums but it also includes other aspects. There is a lot of work going
on behind the scenes for the World Cup.
Haqeeqat, which aims to engage and interact with the large South Asian expatriate community in Qatar, is a joint venture of the Gulf Times and Qatar Media Corporation Urdu Radio. It is broadcast from Sunday to Thursday on FM107. The show is hosted by Saif-ur-Rehman.
