Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemns terrorist incident in Egypt

Jeddah, Safar 01, 1439, October 21, 2017, SPA -- The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned today the terrorist attack on Egyptian police forces in the desert of Oases in the Governorate of Giza, Egypt, resulting in a number of deaths and wounded police officers.
Secretary-General of the Organization Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen expressed the organization's full solidarity with the Egyptian Government and people in confronting and eradicating terrorism.
He reiterated the OIC's firm position against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations regardless of its source. He reiterated the Organization's full commitment to continue to work through continuous consultation with Member States to counter the scourge of terrorism effectively within the framework of the Organization's Counter-Terrorism Convention and agreed resolutions.
He offered his condolences to the Egyptian Government and the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
