Turkmenistan harvests over 1 mln tons of cotton

Turkmenistan's purchasing centers received more than one million tons of raw cotton, said the country's Ministry of Agriculture.

Cotton is a significant export product of Turkmenistan and is a demanded raw material for dozens of modern companies of the country's dynamically developing textile industry.

It is planned to produce 1,050,000 tons of cotton in Turkmenistan in 2017. Harvesting campaign is currently underway in the country.

Ashgabat will host the 7th International Trade Fair of Cotton Products and International Conference 'Cotton products of Turkmenistan and World Market' on Nov. 25-26.
