Bitcoin hits new record high of USD5,000


(MENAFN) For the first time since the launch of the free virtual currency more than eight years ago, Bitcoin reached a new high level of USD5,000 on Thursday, according to sources form UAE.

Around 0820GMT, and according to financial data provider Bloomberg, the crypto currency scored a new high record of USD 5,183.97.

Bitcoin, a virtual currency created from a computer code, was worth only a few US cents once it was launched in 2009 by someone goes by the name Satoshi Nakamoto.
