Syrian opposition activist and daughter 'assassinated'
(MENAFN) Police found a veteran Syrian opposition activist Aroubeh Barakat and her journalist daughter Halla Barakat dead in Istanbul, according to Turkish media report, they were stabbed to death at their apartment, according to crime supporters allegations, it was an 'assassination' to avenge their work.
The Dogan and Anadolu news agencies said friends called the authorities after being unable to reach the the both the mother and her daughter for two days.
Police found both women dead at their apartment in the Uskandar district on the Asian side of Istanbul on Friday.
Police investigation said that they were stabbed to death according to Anadolu, unconfirmed reports said that their throats had been cut brutally.
