Austria rejects EU Commission President's proposals to expand Euro zone
VIENNA, 15th September, 2017 (WAM) -- The Austrian Chancellor Christian Kern and Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz have unanimously rejected the proposal of EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker to extend the Euro zone to all member countries and equip all EU countries with the Euro.
Chancellor Kern demanded more efforts in economic matters, as well as in the fight against tax fraud, work and social dumping. Before all this was not done, an expansion of the Euro zone makes no sense, according to his statement to Austria press Agency.
Foreign Minister Kurz drew attention to the negative example Greece, which was included in the Euro zone, without meeting the necessary financial-economic criteria. he stressed that in the future, "it would have to be avoided that such a situation would be reproduced as in Greece", according to minister Kurz.
