The woman was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital and was in critical condition.

Police arrested a 50-year-old Hong Kong woman who was in charge of the parlor and a 33-year-old woman who holds a two-way permit from mainland China on suspicion of taking part in an illegal medical practice and possessing and using a poison without a license.

Chan Tsz-leung, assistant commander of Yau Tsim district crime unit, said 14 tubes of the toxic substance were found in the beauty parlor. The police investigation is ongoing.
