The United States (US) has called for meaningful transitional justice processes in Sri Lanka.
Janel Balch speaking on behalf of the US at the 36th session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva said that the transitional justice process must have the confidence of the Sri Lankan people.
"In Sri Lanka, we urge the government to continue efforts to establish meaningful transitional justice processes that have the confidence of the Sri Lankan people as well as the international community and that will be credible to all the affected communities in Sri Lanka," she said.
