Ghor edu director slams NDS over his arrest, torture

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): Acting director of Education Department in western Farah province has claimed personnel of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) detained him illegally and allegedly tortured him during detention.

Khalil Ahmad Mubarez, who was released on bail last Thursday, said the NDS personnel arrested him last Monday when they requested introductory meeting with him.

He said his detention was biased and happened when he rejected meeting the NDS director. He said the only reason of his detention was the release of 17 million afghani salaries of education officials in insecure areas.

He claimed under the captivity in NDS lock up he was tortured, misbehaved and abused.

Abdul Karim Etminan and Nazir Nasrat, civil society activists, condemned the detention of education director by NDS personnel and demanded investigation into the incident.
