(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISLAMABAD, Sept 9 (KUNA) -- At least four Afghan policemen and a civilian were killed in an insider attack by an Afghan policeman in Afghanistan's central Logar province, said officials on Saturday.
Provincial Governor's spokesman, Saleem Saleh told media that an Afghan Local Police (ALP) personnel has gunned down four comrades and a civilian in the Paraw locality of Mohammad Agha district.
The official suspected that the ALP personnel who killed other fellow policemen had links with Taliban rebels. The attacker fled the check post taking away all the available weapons. Taliban rebels have not yet commented on the incident.
The insider attack came at a time when Taliban rebels have paced up their attacks across Afghanistan after rejecting newly announced strategy on Afghanistan by US President Donald Trump which involves maintaining a US military presence in the country. (end) sbk.rk
