Jordan- JATS launches solar energy project

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Sept 9 (Petra) –– Minister of Transport Jameel Mujahed Saturday inaugurated the Jordan Airline Training and Simulation (JATS) solar energy project, a feasible and environmentally effective venture that will cut the company's energy bill by about 80 per cent.

The minister said in remarks at the ceremony that the JD2.2 million project, which was launched by a leading aviation training company, is a landmark achievement that would enhance its capacity-building and the ability to expand its investments to provide the aviation industry with skilled manpower.

JATS board chairman Majed Al Saidi said the specialized and high-tech company, which provides aviation simulation training for pilots, had a large number of electricity-powered systems. He said that the 1.5-megawatt solar energy project will fully cover the company's daily needs, cut the energy costs and help raise its profit.
