Car bomb in Baghdad kills 12 people, injures 28

(MENAFN) Iraqi officials announced that at least 12 people were killed in a car bombing in eastern Baghdad in a busy market area.

On Monday morning, the car went off at the Jamila wholesale market in Baghdad's Shia district of Sadr City.

While 28 others were injured, the death toll is expected to rise, according to official authorities.

However, people were running away in panic and black smoke billowed from the area.
