Oman's producer prices rise 20% in second quarter


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The producer price index in Oman recorded a sharp rise of 19.7 per cent in the second quarter of 2017 compared to the same period of the previous year.

Producer prices of oil and gas products jumped 25.6 per cent, while non-oil products prices marginally decreased by 0.3 per cent during the second quarter, according an Oman News Agency report.

In non-oil products category, prices of mining, electricity and water fell by 4.9 per cent. However, prices of manufacturing group increased by 1.3 per cent.

Producer prices of other products of transportable goods rose 2.4 per cent, while food products, beverages and textiles recorded a 0.8 per cent increase. Producer prices of metal products, machinery and equipment fell by 0.5 per cent in the second quarter.
