Manufacturers in Kenya warn of job losses after plastic ban

(MENAFN) After the Kenyan government had imposed ban on plastic bags use, manufacturers warned that it will contribute in job losses.

According to the Kenyan Association of Manufacturers (KAM), the industrialists were against this ban, which is set to clean up the country and to improve the lives for all Kenyans.

A day after the court imposed the ban, KAM released a statement saying: "We have only differed on the manner of its execution, which did not take into account adequate stakeholder consultation."

However, the industrialists argued the ban will lead to the loss of more than 420,000 jobs and revenues to firms and the government.
