Lebanese ministers agree with Syrian officials to boost economic ties

(MENAFN) As part of a visit of the Lebanese government ministers from Hezbollah and the Shi'ite Amal party who arrived in Syria for a trade fair, Syrian and Lebanese ministers promised to boost economic ties between both parts.

While the Lebanese government refused to sanction the visit as official business, Industry Minister Hussein Hajj Hassan insisted they will be there as government representatives.

Lebanon's calls with Damascus officials will test the official policy of 'dissociation' which was agreed on in 2012.

However, the Damascus International Fair will open this week for the first time since the conflict in Syria starter six years ago.
