Hyundai, KIA ranks second hybrid vehicles maker in US in July


(MENAFN) Industry data showed that Hyundai Motor Co. and KIA Motors Corp. had become the second hybrid automobile sellers in the US in July.

Both S. Korean automakers had sold 4,976 vehicles which make use of both an internal burning engine and electric motor to get high fuel mileage.

However, the total sales represents an increase by 9% in total units sold from 4,566 were sold in the previous month, and more than a twofold surge compared with the previous year.

The two S. Korean carmakers had made up a combined 17.1% of the hybrid market, higher that 1.9% from June.
