UAE- Abdullah bin Zayed receives Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs

ABU DHABI, 25th July, 2017 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, today received Abdulqader Musahel, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria.

During the meeting, which was held in Abu Dhabi, both sides discussed the means of strengthening joint co-operation ties between the UAE and Algeria in many areas, most notably in politics, the economy and security.

They also exchanged their points of view regarding updates in the regional situation and discussed several regional and international issues of common interest, such as Libya, Syria, Palestine and Yemen.

While welcoming the visit by Musahel, Sheikh Abdullah praised the development of bilateral relations between the UAE and Algeria in all areas.

Sheikh Abdullah stressed that the relationship between the two countries is one of understanding and shared points of view on issues of common interest. There is also a constant desire to advance their relations towards wider horizons, to answer the aspirations of the leadership and people of both countries, he added.

Musahel stated that the relationship between the UAE and Algeria is exemplary and strategic and there is a desire to strengthen it in all areas.

He also praised the UAE's stature at an Arab and international level, a well as its leading role in solving regional and international issues.

The meeting was also attended by Faris Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Advisor to the Ministry of Presidential Affairs.
