Microsoft Paint to be Scrapped After 32 Years

(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Rabat - Microsoft has announced that one of its original programs, Microsoft Paint, will not be included in its Autumn Creative Update for 2017.

Declaring it a "depricated" program, Microsoft has decided that Microsoft Paint will, henceforth, be a program "not in active development and might be removed in future releases."

The basic graphics editing program first appeared in 1985 as part of the original version of Windows 1.0. Although it was always a limited application, Paint served a useful purpose for quick doodles or cut and paste projects. Like a loyal friend, it was always there when you needed it.

After more than 32 years of service, Microsoft Paint will now join Outlook Express, as well as the Reader and Reading List applications being retired.

Microsoft is now expected to place its development resources behind Microsoft Paint 3D, which was first introduced in the Widows 10 Creators Update.

No precise date has been pinpointed for its permanent removal.
