Initial missile defense deal signed by Turkey


(MENAFN) Anadolu news agency declared Turkish Defence Minister Fikri Isik as saying that Turkey has signed an initial compact with French and Italian firms on the development of missile defense systems.

The deal surrounded the development and joint production of missile defense systems, It cited Isik as saying at a French embassy reception.

He said the deal has been signed with the Franco Italian Eurosam consortium, which is owned by the multinational European missile maker MBDA and France"s Thales.
