(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A four-wheel-drive car caught fire and was gutted in a house at the Salma residential area in the emirate of Umm Al Quwain on Monday afternoon.

On being alerted about the incident, the central operations room of the UAQ Police dispatched traffic police, ambulances, paramedics and rescue teams to the site in record time.

Official sources with the UAQ civil defence department told Khaleej Times that the SUV went up in flames around 3pm.

The fire first caught the engine of the vehicle, and almost spread to its entire body.
