Jordan- King meets senior US administration officials

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah has held meetings with a number of senior US administration officials, during his private visit to the US, according to a Royal Court statement.

King Abdullah has met with US Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Secretary of Defence James Mattis, Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly and Jared Kushner, senior adviser to the US president.

Discussions at the meetings covered the latest developments in the Middle East and means to boost Jordanian-US strategic cooperation.

His Majesty and the US officials also discussed means to push the peace process forward, and reviewed regional and international efforts to fight terrorism, stressing the need to intensify cooperation and coordination among all the countries involved to counter this threat.

Moreover, discussions touched on the latest developments in the Syrian crisis and in Iraq, according to the Royal Court.
