UAE- SCCI chairman receives Pakistani delegation

SHARJAH, 20th August, 2016 (WAM) -- Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) received, last week, a delegation from Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) that comprised Mian Humayun Parvez, President of RCCI, and Manzar Khurshid Shaikh, Chairman of RCCI Global Achievement Awards and RCCI's former president.

The two delegations held a meeting at SCCI, headed by Abdullah Sultan Al Owais and attended by Mohammed Amin, Assistant Director General for Economic and International Affairs Section, and Fatema Al Muqarrab, Head of Economic Cooperation and Foreign Relations Section.

Mian Humayun Parvez invited Abdullah Sultan Al Owais to participate in the Pakistani RCCI Annual Achievement Awards ceremony that recognises excellent performance and innovation displayed by companies and entrepreneurs.

The 29th edition of the Awards ceremony will take place for the first time outside Pakistan, in Dubai, UAE, on September 25, 2016.

Both sides held talks on means that would strengthen bilateral cooperation. The visiting Pakistani delegation expressed interest in organising such a ceremony in the Emirate of Sharjah in the coming years thanks to the fact that Sharjah represents a professional attractive environment for investment and is a favourable business destination, possesses the kind of legislation and laws that facilitate trade flow, and represents a safe haven for growth of the commercial and industrial sector in line with the wise vision of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

The two delegations agreed that SCCI should invite traders and representatives from the business sector in the emirate and thus ensure their more effective participation in the upcoming event, considered unique on the world stage.

After the conclusion of the meeting, Abdullah Sultan Al Owais escorted the members of the visiting delegation on a tour around the SCCI, where they were briefed about the chamber's various facilities.

They visited the chamber's permanent exhibition, which is dedicated to local industrial products and hosts more than 100 factories from various sectors. The delegation received a brief on the most important services provided by the SCCI to facilitate the work of companies, and the business sector in the emirate. The SCCI has been keen in consolidating the status of Sharjah as an investment destination for local and international companies and business sectors, positively and effectively contributing in ensuring that the national economy prospers.
