Baalbeck int'l festival celebrates 60th anniversary

BEIRUT, Aug 20 (KUNA) -- The Baalbeck International Festival, which celebrates its 60th anniversary, is considered one of the landmarks that put Lebanon on the world's cultural map.
Established in the summer of 1956, the festival gained international recognition, living its golden eras throughout the 1960s and 1970s of the last century.
Coinciding with the celebration, the Ministry of Communication in Lebanon issued stamps commemorating the anniversary. (end) wsm.gta
