9 killed in attacks across Iraq on Monday

(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) At least nine Iraqis, including three soldiers, were killed in a spate of attacks in Iraq on Monday.

Three anti-terror troops were killed and four others injured in a suicide bombing in northern Ramadi in western Iraq, army officer Col. Walid al-Duleimi told Anadolu Agency.

According to al-Duleimi, a bomber blew up his vehicle in Zankura in northern Iraq as soldiers were combing the area.

Meanwhile, six civilians were killed and 23 others injured in a spate of attacks in Iraqi capital Baghdad on Monday.

Interior Ministry official Nazi al-Zamili said that four explosive devices exploded in different areas in Baghdad.

“Four people were killed and 23 injured in the attacks,” he told Anadolu Agency.

Unidentified gunmen also opened fire on a moving vehicle in eastern Baghdad, killing two civilians, al-Zamili said.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Iraqi officials often blame the attacks on the Daesh terrorist group, which seized vast swathes of territory in Iraq in 2014.
