ABU DHABI, 6th June, 2016 (WAM) -- The United Arab Emirates' Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has condemned the terrorist attack that targeted the Jordanian General Intelligence office in the Baqa'a camp in the west of Jordan today, resulting in the martyrdom of five of the General Intelligence personnel.

In a statement released today, the ministry denounced this cowardly act of terror and reiterated that the UAE stands by the Kingdom of Jordan in confronting terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, regardless of its motives and sources.

It further said that such a heinous crime demonstrates the need for joint action and for rallying efforts at all regional and international levels to face terrorism.

"This crime proves that terrorism has one goal and that the common approach of different terrorist groups was to target human values, oppose all national and religious principles and seek to sow chaos and spread destruction.

The ministry offered condolences to the relatives of the innocent victims and to the government and people of Jordan.
